a center for women in Atlantic City
Adelaide's Place provides a secure environment for women who have nowhere to go during the day. We encourage our participants to engage in social interactions and programs which include arts and crafts, provide life enhancement skills, a reading room, a nutritious snack, and nutrition classes. Our ladies are treated with dignity and respect which they are entitled to as children of God. Our goal is to provide them with supportive services to improve their quality of life.
It is important to us each woman who comes to us knows she is welcomed and accepted.
Adelaide's Place has been helping homeless and disenfranchised women in the Atlantic City area for more than 20 years, and has become a hub in the community. We provide a secure environment for women who have nowhere to go during the day. Our goal is to provide them with supportive services to improve the quality of their lives. We have become a refuge for women who often do not have any other place to call home. As the need continues to grow, Adelaide's Place will continue to work each day to make people's lives better.
Sister Patty, Director
Sister Patty became interested in the plight of homeless women while working as a pastoral minister at a parish in Atlantic City and continued dedicating herself to this cause at Jewish Family Services, and the Rescue Mission, and Convenant House. With encouragement of her supervisors at the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, Sr. Patty opened Adelaide's Place in 2002 in the basement of St. Monica's. Since that time Sr. Patty has grown Adelaide's Place into a safe haven for homeless women throughout south Jersey.

She possesses the knowledge, skills, and ability to help our ladies in making sound nutritional decisions.
Jodi, Assistant
Jodi has brought her compassion and dedication from working with children who have developmental disabilities to Adelaide's. She is also, an entrepreneur who started her own woman run business decades ago, serving the south Jersey area. With her art therapy background, Jodi provides artistic direction for our ladies. She provides Sr. Patty with the assistance required to ensure our clients can find and receive the services available to them.
